B & E Consulting is always looking for qualified field biologists to add to our growing firm. Biologists must have a degree in biology, ecology, environmental science or a closely related field. No prior field experience is required, although it is preferred.
In particular, we are looking for biologists with fieldwork experience in one or more of the following specialties:
- Desert tortoises
- Bats
- Birds
- Plant biology
Additional skills and qualifications of interest may include:
- Demonstrated ability to walk up to 10 miles a day in extreme environmental conditions, especially in heat up to 110°F
- USFWS/BLM approvals to work with sensitive species in the southwestern states
- Basic knowledge of navigation using map, compass and GPS units
- Knowledge of ArcGIS
- Willingness to travel for short periods of time
- Willingness to work 45-60 hours per week with overtime pay
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
